Baku is a desert.  Today it rained.

My very lovely colleague, Turan, from Baku:  (Gasp) HEY LOOK OUTSIDE!  It’s raining so heavily!  Do you see all that water on the ground?

Me, from the tropics:  What?  We call this drizzling! 

Differences like this continue to amuse me.  :)
